access GORM database outside of grails

Hi,
I was wondering about the above. Obviously I can update a database outside of Grails but what happens about the version field. Does my code have to increment the version number as well in case the record is being updated within Grails?

I think it's dangerous to do this unless ur positive that nothing is being held in a hibernate cache / session .. But if you do , then yes you should update the version ..
